The 2023 Business IT Architecture Series (2023) Conference, organised by IASA Asia Pacific in partnership with Cyberview, proved to be a resounding success as industry leaders, professionals, and technology enthusiasts convened at the event. During the event, PETRONAS, Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan (KPKT) Malaysia’s Ministry of Housing and Local Government and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Health Campus were recognized for their exceptional achievements in their respective categories in the Malaysia Business Technology Awards. PETRONAS clinched the Excellence Award in the Digital Transformation category, showcasing their outstanding implementation of enterprise architecture to drive digital innovation within their upstream business.
Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan (KPKT) Malaysia’s Ministry of Housing and Local Government received the Excellence Award in the Digital Customer Experience category, highlighting their remarkable efforts in enhancing customer experiences through strategic enterprise architecture practices.
Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Health Campus was honored with the Achievement Award for their groundbreaking initiative to architect a safe environment of care for patients and healthcare providers in an academic medical center, demonstrating the transformative power of enterprise architecture in the healthcare industry. These well-deserved accolades serve as a testament to the organizations’ commitment to excellence and innovation in their respective domains.
In the afternoon session, Auni Alias, Head of Investor Promotion & Relations at Cyberview Sdn Bhd, delivered a compelling presentation titled “Cyberjaya: The Global Technology Hub, Your Preferred Investment Destination in South East Asia.” Auni Alias highlighted the immense potential of Cyberjaya as a thriving technological ecosystem and an attractive investment destination for businesses in the region.
The event’s momentum reached its peak with the Opening Keynote by Aaron Tan, Chairman & Co-founder of IASA Asia Pacific, who spoke on “Accelerate Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development.” His keynote address shed light on the role of digital innovation in driving sustainable development, inspiring attendees to embrace innovative solutions for a better future.
Dr. Siti Istianah Mahdzur, a Public Sector ICT Expert in ICT Strategic Management from MAMPU, took the stage to deliver a keynote presentation titled “Enterprise Architecture as the Foundation for a Sustainable Architecture.” Dr. Siti Istianah emphasized the critical role of enterprise architecture in building a sustainable foundation for organizations, providing valuable insights for the audience to implement in their own contexts.
The conference further engaged participants through a dynamic Panel Discussion on “Empowering Organizational Capabilities for Business Transformation.” Esteemed panelists including Mr Krishna K. Ramasamy, Group Chief Operations Officer of Silver Lining Systems, Mr. Mohammad Malekmakan, Senior Enterprise Architect for Digital Sustainability at PETRONAS Digital, and Mr. Calvin Yau, IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture representative from CelcomDigi, shared their expertise and experiences in empowering organizational capabilities for successful business transformations.
Attendees were then enlightened by Hasan Ganny Hanif Francis, Chief Enterprise Architect at ATD Solution, who presented on “Localise the SDGs Initiatives Using The Enterprise Architecture (EA) Approach.” Mr. Francis demonstrated the application of enterprise architecture in localizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiatives, aligning business objectives with global sustainability objectives.
The conference reached its grand finale with a captivating Fireside Chat on “Corporate Strategies for Driving Sustainability Development Goals.” Jowynne Khor, Program Director at IASA APAC, and Wan Dazriq, Chief Executive Officer of Ethis, engaged in an insightful discussion, sharing corporate strategies and success stories in driving sustainability development goals.
